As a Speechie with a love of good quality picture books I just love this book. It’s such an important message conveyed in a lovely way. A great read for kids, parents and therapists a like. Thanks Lorren.

“Be With Me” is a picture book that is child-friendly but actually communicates a valuable lesson for parents/guardians/educators. The pictures are attractive and clearly depict the characters in a variety of situations and feeling a variety of emotions, which lends itself to think-alouds and conversations about different feelings, what they look like and how they feel in the body. As a toddler mum and an educator, I would recommend this book to anyone who is unsure of how to support young children with their difficult feelings. “Being with” can be challenging but this book really gets across the point that being with our young people is incredibly valuable and necessary.

This delightfully illustrated book manages to convey so many important messages – it is thoughtful and clever in explaining big feelings and we can help little people (and even big people) regulate those big feelings. Highly recommend this book to parents and teachers alike!

An amazing book! Beautifully written, perfectly illustrated and totally impactful, Be With Me is a must read for every parent and educator. As a Dad and Primary School Principal this book is now on my most recommended book list.

This book made me tear up as I remembered being a child unable to express my feelings just like Echidna and wanting someone to be with me. I am looking forward to sharing with my grandchildren and also just being with them when Cross and Grumpy visit.

As a early childhood teacher and play therapist, this story really hit the mark. Such beautiful concepts such as ‘being with’ ‘ as well as patience, acceptance and feeling heard and seen. For children who have experienced trauma, this book will provide so much empathy and felt sense of safety, knowing the people caring for them understand and ‘get them’. I also read this to my children and they were really taken by the words and sentiment of the book, saying ‘maybe all grown ups should read it’ Wonderfully done, Lorren.
