Supervision for Professionals

Lorren maintains a strong commitment to supervision. As such she maintains regular supervision herself to ensure the ongoing quality of her clinical work. In addition, she offers professional supervision to other clinicians who are working with children and families. Lorren recognizes that it is important to have a confidential place for professionals to check in and to receive support in the ongoing work they do. If you are a professional, and this is something that would interest you, please email Lorren to talk further. You will find her email listed in the contacts section.

As an accredited Consultant and Trainer in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Parenting and Practice (DDP). Lorren is also able to offer supervision and to support clinicians through the practicum to become accredited as a DDP Practitioner. Further information regarding this process can be found on the DDPI website – https://ddpnetwork.org. Please feel free to email Lorren if this is something that interests you.

Fees & Rebates

Lorren understands the importance for families in understanding what their costs will be at the outset. She has endeavoured to provide affordable options to enable all families to access the support they need.

Standard Cost of Sessions

Lorren’s standard rate for a 50 minute session is $195. There are ways to offset this cost either through Medicare or through accessing your Private Health Fund if you have this provision. Information about both of these are provided below. Note however that you will only be able to claim one of these per individual session (i.e. either the Medicare rebate or a rebate through your Private Health Fund, but not both).

All accounts will first need to be paid in full, and then claimed back through either Medicare or your Private Health Fund if eligible.

Payments need to be made on the day of appointment, either through our EFT machine if you are in clinic, or through a bank transfer if your session has been on line. If in clinic, we will be able to process the Medicare claim for you. If not you will then be provided with a tax receipt for claiming back any eligible rebate.

Medicare

Your doctor can refer you to psychologist with a GP Mental Heath Plan that entitles you to a Medicare rebate for up to a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year. The current rate from Medicare for a 50 minute session with a Clinical Psychologist is $141.85. This will leave your out of pocket expenses per eligible session at approximately $54.

To receive this rebate, talk with your doctor about your eligibility.

Private Health Fund Rebates

If you are insured for extras through a Private Health Fund, you may be eligible for a rebate for psychological services. You will need to talk with your fund to determine your eligibility. They should be able to give you the amount of the rebate to which you may be entitled. You will only be able to claim however on sessions for which you have not also claimed the Medicare rebate, as you are unable to claim both for any single session.
